I just came off a weekend retreat and am still basking in the afterglow.
Recently, I spent two days with seven women I’ve been in a Bible study with for many years. We’ve gone on annual retreats together for the last nine years. Every single retreat has been different from the last, mostly because we all take turns developing and hosting each retreat. Each retreat feeds the next.
All year long the co-leaders plan and manage to keep the details of events under wraps. The element of surprise makes the experience so much better for the attendees.
What is a retreat?
Retreats are like mini vacations. Usually one or two day get-aways. Retreats can be made up of a group of people you already know, or one of random people all looking for a unique experience based on a specific theme. I’ve been on several types and haven't had a bad one yet.
We are currently offering private group retreats.
Each retreat has a theme and is custom designed to fit your group.
On retreat we step away from all the ordinary aspects of our lives and focus on a specific theme.
We may focus on ways to improve life at home, at work, perhaps to develop our spiritual lives, or learn to integrate healthy living skills for better health. And then there is my personal favorite which encourages indulgence in culinary bliss. The choice is yours!
On this most recent retreat we invited a Naturopathic Doctor to come in to discuss simple and immediate ways we could all improve our physical health. Since our group stems from a Bible study the doctor went one step further and wrapped the information in Scripture. We all walked away with precious nuggets of information we were able to put to use right away.
During retreat we leave the stresses of home and work behind. Food is prepared for you, friendships strengthen, special moments happen.
