We had a small tour last Saturday, just the four of us. Turns out it was a fantastic time to really get to know some new friends!
These ladies came all the way from Carmi, Illinois, to the Haynie's Corner Lunch Tour. One had recently retired from the same company Geoff works at, although they were one hundred miles away from each other. Without the tour they probably wouldn't have met otherwise. Small world!
We got cozy in Mo's Powder Room. The yellow bench seats are comfy and make one want to stay for hours.
We enjoyed some wonderful cocktails as we discussed places we've been, people we've met and cocktails we've enjoyed along the way.
It was a great day to make new friends.
The Fig & Pig Pizza is one of my favorites at Walton's International Comfort Foods. The gorgonzola cheese and the salty pork belly under that thick blanket of gooey cheese gets me every time!
Bokeh Lounge was still serving breakfast when we got there, so we ordered a veggie omelet and home fries. We also had their fabulous nachos to take with us to Mo's. I didn't think to take a picture until we finished them. My bad. They were good!
Here Geoff is re-enacting how the over-sized umbrella at Penny Lane got caught up in a gust of wind. He grabbed it as it swooshed upward and literally pulled him out of his seat as he guided it with one arm away from us and safely onto the sidewalk.
Honestly, we lost it. We laughed so hard we cried!
